Hyundai Styx (Carlino)


Hyundai is going to Launch new segment in their portfolio.

At Auto Expo 2016, Hyundai showcased their compact SUV concept Carlino (codenamed QXi) and the company is planning to launch the production version of the car in India this year. As per various reports, the car can be named Hyundai Styx and it will sit below the Creta. Hyundai’s another major player in the volume space is the upcoming subcompact SUV. Hyundai Styx, will have a design language sticking by the latest global design trends of the South Korean automaker.

In India, the Styx SUV has been recently spied testing in Delhi.

The Styx is expected to get an all-black cabin with bolstered seats.The dashboard is expected to get an 8.0-inch touchscreen. Safety net includes 7-airbags, ABS+EBD among others. Also, keeping in line with the upcoming Bharat New Vehicle Safety Assessment Program safety norms, the car will get rear parking sensors, seat-belt reminder and other such mandatory options.
Hyundai will power the all-new Styx with both petrol and diesel engine options. There would be a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine generating around 118 Bhp and a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine generating around 115 Bhp. The petrol engine option is expected to get AMT transmission while the diesel will only get a manual transmission.

Hyundai is looking at getting the new compact SUV by the mid of 2019.  The company is working on the concept to get it into a production model. The Hyundai Styx has been seen testing in America also. This car is going to be sold in a lot of markets in the world.

Price is one of the most important aspects of a vehicle. This compact SUV will be expected to be priced between Rs 7 lakh-Rs 12 lakh (Ex-Showroom). It will be competing with other compact SUVs (Breeza, Eco sports, nexon etc.) in this price point.
